37th Memorial Maria Luisa International Mountain, Nature and Adventure Contest 2027

The Memorial Maria Luisa is one of Europe's leading mountain, nature and adventure photo and video competitions, named after Spanish mountaineer Maria Luisa Alvarez Garcia. The 36th edition drew 18,059 photos and 182 films from 78 countries and presented its awards in Asturias on 24 and 25 April 2026. The 37th edition is open until 1 December 2026, with the jury verdict on 1 March 2027 and the galas in Infiesto and Oviedo on 23 and 24 April 2027. A single payment of EUR 22 covers all fourteen photo categories plus video, the first photograph is free, and the overall winner receives EUR 5,000. The rules ban manipulations that alter the photographed reality and require RAW files on request.

Authenticity policy

AI policy

Alterations or manipulations of the image or even of part/s of the image, which imply that the photograph shows a different reality from the photographed reality, will not be admitted.

RAW files

Also, and in any case, entrants will be asked to provide the camera primary files (RAW). Not providing such files implies the disqualification of the photograph.

Editing rules

The 37th edition rules admit the typical adjustments of digital developing (white balance, exposure, levels, contrast, colour saturation, focusing, vignetting removal, particle cleaning, slight cropping) and forbid any alteration that shows a different reality from the photographed one. AI is not named separately. The RAW clause sits in the short-list section: authors of short-listed photographs may be asked for clarifications, and entrants will be asked for the camera primary files (RAW); not providing them means disqualification. Multiple exposures, HDR, panoramas, stitching and stacking are allowed when captured consecutively at the same place, and camera EXIF metadata must be kept.
