Trust and security

Verification that does not keep your files

The RAW file is the most valuable thing a photographer holds, and most organisations have their own rules about where images may be processed. Lumethic is built so that verification happens without storing your originals.

Processed in memory

Uploads are handled in working memory while the check runs. The RAW file is not written to long-term storage at any point in the process.

No retention of RAW files

Once verification finishes, the RAW data is removed. Lumethic is a verification step, not a place to store your archive, so there is no copy of your original left behind.

EU-based infrastructure

Processing runs on infrastructure located in the European Union, which keeps verification within the EU for organisations that require it.

Deletion in line with the GDPR

Any image data still held follows a deletion process consistent with the right to erasure under Article 17 of the GDPR.

What Lumethic does not do

The limits we hold to

Some of the assurance comes from what the service deliberately does not do with your images.

  • It does not keep your RAW files. They exist only in memory for the length of the check and are removed afterwards.
  • It does not use your images to train models. Verification is a forensic comparison, not a data-collection exercise.
  • It does not sell or share your images with third parties for their own purposes.
  • It does not require you to upload your archive. You verify the photos you choose, when you choose to.

What happens to a file

From upload to credential

A verification moves through three stages, and the original RAW file does not outlast the check.

01

Encrypted upload

The RAW file and the export are sent over an encrypted connection and held in memory for the check.

02

Verification in memory

The forensic comparison runs against the files in memory. Nothing about the RAW is kept beyond what the check needs while it runs.

03

Result, then removal

The credential and report are produced, and the RAW data is removed. What remains is the result, not your original file.

For organisations

What to tell your compliance team

Processing runs on infrastructure located in the European Union, and RAW files are handled in memory without long-term storage, which keeps the most sensitive part of a verification within the EU and short-lived. Any image data still held follows a deletion process consistent with Article 17 of the GDPR.

For procurement, the points that usually matter are the absence of RAW retention, the EU processing location, and the fact that verification does not depend on storing original files. If your review needs more detail or a data processing agreement, contact us and we will work through it.
