International Landscape Photographer of the Year 2026 (13th)

Run from Australia by Peter Eastway and David Evans, ILPOTY is the most search-relevant standalone landscape photography competition, built around a Top 101 awards book, with USD 12,500 in cash prizes. The 12th edition was won by J. Fritz Rumpf, who now sits on the jury. The 13th edition accepted entries from 1 August to 31 October 2026 at USD 25 per image and is being judged, with results due in early December 2026. The 14th edition is expected to open in August 2027, following this year's calendar. AI-generated images and AI-generated components within composites are not permitted, minor AI retouching is tolerated, and the organisers may ask for RAW files to prove authenticity.

Authenticity policy

AI policy

AI generated images (and for composite images, AI generated image components) are not permitted. Minor AI retouching is acceptable as long as it is not creating new content.

RAW files

We reserve the right to ask entrants to submit the raw file(s) to prove an Entry's authenticity.

Editing rules

Rule 7 allows unrestricted post-production as long as it is the entrant's own work, with one exception: AI-generated images and AI-generated components in composites are banned. The rules draw the line with an example: using AI to cover small rocks with grass like the surroundings is acceptable, replacing the rocks with a garden pond or rose bushes is not, while compositing a camera-captured pond yourself is fine. The organisers reserve the right to request RAW files to prove authenticity and will forfeit and publicise any award found to involve AI generation. Entrants also warrant in rule 19 that they have not used AI technology to create or generate the entry or any component of a composite. Photographs must have been taken on or after 1 January 2021.
