Felix Schoeller Photo Award 2027

The Felix Schoeller Photo Award is a biennial German award for professional photographers and emerging talent, run by the Felix Schoeller Group since 2013 and free to enter. The 2025 winners were honoured on 25 September 2025 at the Museumsquartier Osnabrück: Maximilian Mann took the German Peace Prize for Photography (EUR 10,000), Axel Javier Sulzbacher the Sustainability category and Verdiana Albano the Emerging Photographer category (EUR 5,000 each). The 2027 edition is expected to open in January 2027, following the 2025 calendar, which ran from 20 January to 5 April 2025; as of November 2026 the site still shows the 2025 edition and no 2027 call. The 2025 rules say nothing about AI or RAW files.

Editing rules

The Felix Schoeller Photo Award is biennial; 2025 was the seventh edition and the next is due in 2027. The 2025 terms and conditions (PDF, last updated 1 December 2024) contain no language on AI, image manipulation or RAW files, so both fields stay unspecified until the 2027 rules appear. Each entry consists of three to five photographs with a written concept; professionals enter Sustainability and the German Peace Prize for Photography, emerging photographers the Emerging Photographer category.
