World Nature Photography Awards 2027 (WNPA)
The World Nature Photography Awards (WNPA) is an international nature competition launched in 2020, covering wildlife behaviour, portraits, plants, landscapes, underwater and people-and-nature in more than a dozen categories, with gold, silver and bronze in each and 1,000 US dollars for the overall title. Entries for the 2027 awards closed at midnight GMT on 30 June 2026 and the organizer's site says the winners will be announced in February 2027. The 2026 title went to Jono Allen of Australia for Mãhina, a humpback whale image from Tonga. The rules ban AI-created images, composites and any addition or removal of elements, allow limited manipulation and focus stacking, and let WNPA demand RAW files, EXIF data and field notes.

Authenticity policy
AI policy
Images submitted into the WNPA must be original works of the photographer and not created by AI (Artificial intelligence). Limited digital manipulations and focus stacking are permitted, providing they do not compromise the authenticity of the image. However, composites and the addition or removal of objects, people, animals or parts of animals is strictly forbidden.
RAW files
WNPA reserves the right to request further information about how any image was made, including RAW files, EXIF data, field notes, location details, and a written account of the circumstances of capture. Images may be disqualified where the organisers consider that the method of capture is inconsistent with the rules, animal welfare, or the values of the competition.
Editing rules
WNPA's rules explicitly ban AI-created images, composites, and the addition or removal of any subject elements; limited digital manipulation and focus stacking are permitted as long as they do not compromise the authenticity of the image. The rules for this cycle were tightened on baiting, feeding, luring and call playback. WNPA may request RAW files, EXIF data, field notes, location details and a written account of how an image was made, and may disqualify images whose capture method conflicts with the rules or animal welfare. EXIF data should be kept intact in submitted JPEGs.
