Siena International Photo Awards (SIPA) 2027

The Siena International Photo Awards (SIPA), part of the Siena Awards programme, is one of Europe's most prestigious international fine-art photography competitions. The 2026 winners were honoured at the awards ceremony in the Teatro dei Rinnovati in Siena on 10 October 2026. Entries for the 2027 edition are open until 7 January 2027 across ten categories, among them Journeys & Adventures, Fascinating Faces and Characters, The Beauty of Nature, Animals in their Environment, Documentary & Photojournalism, Street Photography and Underwater Life. The rules do not accept AI-generated photos: only photographs captured and edited by humans without AI algorithms are eligible, and participants who reach the final round are asked to submit the RAW or original camera files.

Authenticity policy

AI policy

The 'Siena International Photo Awards' competition does not accept AI-generated photos for submission. Only photographs captured and edited by humans, without the use of AI algorithms or any other form of artificial intelligence, are eligible for entry.

RAW files

Participants who are listed in the final round are requested to submit the RAW/original camera files of their photographs for nomination.

Editing rules

SIPA's editing rule is darkroom-equivalent: post-processing to optimize an image is allowed, images can be slightly cropped, but key elements of the composition cannot be added or removed. Jurors retain discretion to reject any entry believed to be overly manipulated, and final-round participants are asked for the RAW or original camera files. Finalists must also be able to supply a high-resolution file of at least 8 MB.
