Minimalist Photography Awards 2027
The Minimalist Photography Awards is the leading award for minimalist photography, focused on clean lines, negative space and intentional composition. The 8th edition closed on 2 June 2026 and its winners were published on 25 August 2026: Polish photographer Marcin Giba became Minimalist Photographer of the Year for his drone series The Last Winter, chosen from more than 6,200 images from 66 countries, and received EUR 2,000. The 2027 edition is not announced yet; following last year's calendar it is expected to open in early 2027 with a final deadline in June. The AI stance stays hybrid: computer-generated works are forbidden, partly AI-rendered montages are confined to the Photomanipulation category, and finalists may be asked for RAW or original JPG files.

Authenticity policy
AI policy
AI-assisted images are accepted only if they incorporate a real photograph as a fundamental part of the composition. This means entirely computer-generated works are not allowed, but if your piece is a montage where a significant portion is a true photograph and other elements are artificially rendered, it will be accepted. These mixed creations can only be submitted in the Photomanipulation category.
RAW files
Finalists and winning entrants may be required to upload the original RAW file or an unmodified original JPG file of their submitted image upon request. This requirement is solely for verification purposes, to confirm the authenticity and photographic origin of the work and to ensure that the image is not fully AI-generated.
Editing rules
The Minimalist Photography Awards take a hybrid position: entirely computer-generated works are not allowed, but montages in which a significant portion is a true photograph and other elements are artificially rendered are accepted in the Photomanipulation category only. The rules page, as it stands for the 8th edition, adds that finalists and winners may be asked to upload the original RAW file or an unmodified original JPG so the organizers can confirm the photographic origin of the work and that it is not fully AI-generated; failure to deliver within the set timeframe can mean disqualification without appeal.
