Hamdan International Photography Award (HIPA) 2027

AI policy

Participants are required to submit a written declaration confirming that no artificial intelligence tools or software were used in the creation of submitted works in categories where such technologies are not permitted. This requirement is intended to preserve the authenticity of the submitted works and uphold the integrity of human creative expression. This applies to all categories except in the ‘Dreams Through AI’ category.

RAW files

You are kindly requested to upload the original Photo(s) (RAW) or the Photo(s) (s) without any editing after the shortlisting of the photos(s).

Editing rules

HIPA keeps AI-generated work in the dedicated Dreams Through AI category, where entries must be based on the participant's own source photograph and the original may be requested for verification; fully AI-generated images are not accepted even there. In every other category entrants sign a written declaration that no AI tools were used. Basic technical editing is acceptable as long as it does not affect the authenticity of the photo, while compositing, creative retouching and other advanced manipulation are prohibited. After shortlisting, participants must upload the RAW file or the unedited camera original; the FAQ says the system accepts up to 38 RAW types. A verification stage covering model releases, ownership statements and identity documents decides the winners.
