Glanzlichter der Naturfotografie 2027

Glanzlichter der Naturfotografie is the most established German-language nature photography competition, awarded at the Internationale Naturfototage in Fürstenfeldbruck. The 2026 edition was won by Rahul Sachdev from India with a giraffe walking into a dust devil in Amboseli. The 29th edition opened on 1 October 2026 and closes on 10 January 2027 at midnight CET; entrants may submit up to 30 images across eight categories plus a Junior Award for EUR 30 (EUR 15 under 18), with prizes worth more than EUR 28,000. Digital manipulation and any use of artificial intelligence lead to disqualification, and authenticity is checked against RAW or original files after the first pre-selection. Winners are published on 15 March 2027.

Editing rules

Permitted edits are explicitly listed: tonal correction, contrast and saturation adjustment, sharpening and cropping. HDR, focus stacking and panoramas stitched from several frames are accepted, and in-camera multiple exposures only in additive or average mode with frames taken at the same place and around the same time. Any further editing, digital manipulation or use of artificial intelligence leads to disqualification; cloning out particles in underwater images is also forbidden. Digital techniques must be ticked in the upload tool. After the first pre-selection the organisers request the original files: RAW files of any format, JPGs straight out of the camera (even renaming can disqualify a JPG as an original), or the analogue slides and negatives for scans.
