fotoforum Award 2027

The fotoforum Award is the reader competition of the German photography magazine fotoforum and runs as a series of six themed rounds per award year. The 2027 award is endowed with EUR 12,000, EUR 2,000 per round, and its rounds close between 1 October 2026 (Architektur) and 1 August 2027 (Licht); the Menschen round with the categories Porträt, Zweisamkeit, In Action and Street closes on 1 December 2026. Each round costs EUR 20 for up to four images and is free for subscribers and premium community members. The terms exclude images, including image parts, generated by so-called artificial intelligence, allow editing otherwise, and say nothing about RAW files or verification.

Editing rules

The terms list images generated by so-called artificial intelligence (KI or AI), including image parts, among the images not admitted to the award; the quote joins the introductory sentence of that list with its AI item, as the page itself formats it. Editing is allowed, but the award is not a graphics or editing contest, and added signatures, frames, logos or text are not permitted. Up to four JPEGs per round, longest side at least 3,000 pixels, 15 MB maximum, digitised analogue photos accepted. RAW files, original files or any verification step are not mentioned.
