Architizer Vision Awards 2027 - Photography Categories
The Architizer Vision Awards is an architecture-industry programme with dedicated photography and video categories (Exterior, Interior, Environment, People, Atmosphere, Details). The 2026 cycle closed on 24 July 2026 and its winners were announced in October 2026, with Justin Szeremeta's Shanghai Grand Opera House taking the jury prize for Exterior photography. Architizer has announced a fourth edition for 2027 without dates; it is expected to open in March, following last year's calendar. Winners are published in Metropolis magazine and the Architizer Journal. The permissive AI policy, which allows AI tools in image creation across all categories, makes the contest a useful contrast point relative to documentary contests with strict authenticity rules.

Editing rules
The Architizer Vision Awards take an explicitly permissive stance: the FAQ answers the question whether AI may be used to generate imagery with a yes for all categories, including photography. Disclosure is encouraged but not enforced, and entrants must own the rights to any AI-generated elements. Submissions are JPG or PNG files of up to 20 MB; RAW or original files are not mentioned anywhere, so that field is unspecified. The entry sits at the opposite end of the policy spectrum from World Press Photo and serves as a baseline for the index.
