National Geographic Traveller (UK) Photography Competition 2027
National Geographic Traveller (UK)'s annual photography competition, run by APL Media, is one of the few high-profile free-to-enter contests with an explicit, blanket ban on generative AI. The 2026 edition opened on 30 January 2026 for residents of the UK and Ireland, closed on 22 March 2026 and announced its winners at a ceremony at Samsung KX in London on 28 May 2026, with Edward Hasler taking the Grand Prize, an 11-day trip for two to Canada, across eight categories including the new Aerial and Rising Star. The 2027 edition is not announced yet; following last year's calendar it is expected to open in January 2027. Editing stays restricted to minor burning, dodging, colour correction and cropping.
