Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards 2026 (KLPA)
The Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards (KLPA) is a portrait photography competition based in Malaysia. The 2026 open call, Autoportrait, runs in collaboration with the FORMAT International Photography Festival on the theme Play, accepts entries from 25 September to 25 November 2026, and costs EUR 12 for one image up to EUR 65 for ten, with one free image for full-time students under 25. Judging follows in late November and early December, the finalists gallery goes online in January 2027 and the prizewinners are announced in February 2027. The rules bar AI prompt-generated images in whole or in part, limit editing to basic darkroom techniques and let the organisers ask finalists for their original RAW or JPEG files.

Editing rules
Section 7e of the 2026 rules bars all AI prompt-generated digital images, in whole or part of any submission, and adds that the organisers rely on photographers' integrity and honesty not to submit AI-created images. Section 7c excludes heavily manipulated, HDR or content-altered images, listing morphing, splicing or erasing features, heavy vignetting, extreme darkening of skies, toning and filter effects, while in-camera multiple exposures are allowed. Section 7d advises minimal enhancement limited to levels, curves, dodging, burning, minimal sharpening and colour correction. Section 7i allows the organisers to require finalists to submit their original RAW or JPEG files for verification. Photographs must have been taken between 2024 and 2026.
